It might just work wonders for you.

What is Microneedling?

It is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy that means it helps in the production of new collagen under the skin.
Microneedling can be performed with a pen or rollers; the pen penetrates deeper than rollers and should be used by trained professionals.
The theory behind it is that creating small punctures or injuries underneath the skin will prompt the body to respond through the formation of new tissues to heal the injured area. The created punctures will allow topical gels and serums to be absorbed deeper.

What is the procedure?

Clean skin is necessary before the procedure; an esthetician will clean it with a gentle cleanser to remove all the dirt, oil, and products your skin has gone through.

Numbing cream is applied so that the patient doesn’t feel any pain. The idea of tiny needles poking holes in your skin isn’t appealing, yet the pain is minimal or not at all. It will take 15-30 minutes for the cream to take effect.

After your face is numbed, our dermatologists will pass the pen or roller- depending on how deep it is to go – over your whole face.

It can last 20-30 minutes.

To soothe and promote healing, a serum is applied.

Ideal long-term results are not reached in just one session, you will see that your skin has a shine and will feel better a week after the first procedure. Multiple sessions will be needed to effectively treat your concerns.

Home Rollers

The benefit of derma rollers is that they can be used at homes too. However, the length of the needles is short – about 0.5mm – that is the ideal length any longer should be done by a professional.

At-home rollers will still work though they are much gentler on the skin to reduce the risk of serious injuries. If you choose to use a home roller, make sure they are clean and sterilized to avoid an infection.
