About the treatment
The Vascular Laser technique usually takes a few minutes to perform in the clinic. To begin with, your eyes will be covered using goggles or an eye mask. The procedure generally require tropical anesthesia to reduce the pain sensation.
When your skin is unable to feel the pain, concentrated beams of yellow light target the tissue or blood vessel in the affected area. This light is converted into heat that penetrates specifically into the targeted blood vessel and destroys it. The light is set at a specific distance that it penetrates precisely into the affected blood vessel, leaving the surrounding skin area untouched & unaffected.
Some of the skin issues like hemangiomas, port wine stains, and rosacea may require up to 2-3 treatment sessions. However, once the treatment is done, the patient may feel instant & long-lasting results.
Is there any side effect of Vascular Laser therapy?
With any treatment, the first thing that comes to mind is the side effects. The treatment has the slightest of the side effects like bruising or dark purple skin, which is normal. Any bruises will fade away on their own within three to twelve days.
After Treatment Procedure
Once the treatment is completed, few things should be kept in mind to avoid the further skin issue-
- Apply moisturizer – To soothe the affected area, keep it moisturized by applying Vaseline jelly or Aquaphor Ointment 2-3 times a day.
- Sunblock is necessary –Keep the affected area covered or protected from direct sun exposure for at least 3-4 weeks. It can re-trigger the pigmentation of the skin.
- No chemical cosmetics –You can apply makeup after 2-3 days of the treatment. Using chemical-free makeup is advisable.
- Bruises or Crusts –If any crusts or bruises appear, do not scratch them or try to remove them. It will fade away on its own.
